Community Education & Training
The purpose of the Community Education and Training Department is to increase the awareness of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault. We have a staff of trained professionals and volunteers who conduct a variety of presentations in the community, hoping to increase knowledge, explore opinions, and foster caring responses to victims.

The Community Education and Training team provides professional training, speaker’s bureau presentations, and the Youth Education Services (Y.E.S. Program). The topics of each are appropriate for the audiences which it serves, and cover domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, agency overview, victim sensitivity, impact on survivors, safety suggestions, and effects of abuse. The Y.E.S. Program targets Wake County students (grades 3-12) on age-appropriate topics such as anger management, conflict resolution, good touch/bad touch, date/acquaintance rape, self-esteem issues, etc.

For more information, please e-mail our administrative offices at communityed@interactofwake.org.

Community Outreach
An Interact staff member is at Wake County Human Services and at the Wake County Alcohol Treatment Center to offer information and counseling concerning domestic violence, rape and incest. A Spanish-speaking staff member provides services and information in the Wake County Latino community.
