Therapeutic Services and Counseling

No matter how long ago the abuse or assault occurred, survivors can see individual counselors and participate in specialized support groups. In addition, InterAct’s Therapeutic Service Program and makes clinical assessments and referrals, addressing the complex and unique mental health concerns of survivors.

InterAct serves individuals of all ages who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault. InterAct counselors are specially trained to address the safety needs and concerns of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. Counselors offer crisis counseling, information, assistance with shelter, emotional support, assistance with Domestic Violence Protective Orders and referrals to other agencies or resources as needed.

Survivors often face significant emotional and psychological barriers following abuse. One-on-one counseling provides individuals with a chance to share their stories, make informed decisions about their situations, and begin healing.

Rebuilding life after abuse can feel lonely and overwhelming. InterAct’s group counseling, led by trained counselors, allows survivors to find healing and strength through shared experiences. Group counseling is beneficial for survivors because group members can regain confidence, reduce their feelings of isolation, overcome fear, and gain additional support from others experiencing similar events.
