Domestic Violence Awareness Month

By InterAct Communications,

Every October, InterAct joins a powerful national movement during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). It’s a time to honor survivors and raise awareness. What began as a “Day of Unity” in 1981 became an official, month-long observance in 1987. This year, in 2025, we reflect on over three decades of national progress, and the critical work that remains.

More information about special events in support of DVAM 2025 is forthcoming.

Thank you for visiting this event and supporting InterAct.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

By Angel Oak Creative,

Domestic Violence Awareness Month white on purple with purple ribbon.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. During this time, we remember those we have lost and stand with those who have found safety and healing. Domestic violence affects all of us, regardless of our backgrounds.
