Over nearly 50 years, InterAct has served tens of thousands of survivors and their families. InterAct understands that domestic and sexual violence, physical and mental health, housing insecurity, income, and employment are deeply intertwined. Accordingly, we have carefully structured programs that lead to successful futures.
Every caller to InterAct Crisis Lines is met with empathy, care, and professionalism and receives a safety plan.
Families fleeing domestic violence find a safe haven. More than 85% of clients who complete InterAct’s Emergency Shelter Program do not return to abusive homes when transitioning to independent living (the national average is about 50%). Every day, survivors of domestic and sexual violence rebuild their lives and begin a new chapter of clients enrolled in InterAct’s housing program, 95% secure permanent housing.
Hospitals and law enforcement across Wake County refer patients to InterAct for forensic exams following sexual assault. Seventy percent of participants in our therapeutic programs show clinical improvements in emotional stability.
